Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio is an American actor. She is best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television series. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001 despite struggling in the financial department. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as younger that Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career as a teenager with small roles in several of the films of her father and starred alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for both her performances as the lead actress in Secretary (2002), an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
