Aisling Bea

Aisling B a, born 16 March 1984, in Kildare Ireland. Bea has appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March, 1984) is a comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea started appearing as a part-time actress in Irish or British television programs in 2009, began her career by performing stand-up comedy in 2011. In 2012, she was frequently appearing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. In 2012, after winning an award in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to be booked regularly for numerous panel shows for which she has become a fixture. She's a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016, and she's an extremely popular contestant on the show's sister show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. She was the only female to win So You Think You're Funny in the year 2012. Bea, her maiden name, is a tribute to her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet, who committed suicide when Bea turned three, was a victim of self-harm. The news of his passing at 13 years old. The stage name Bea was a tribute for her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey with suicide. Bea was raised with her younger sister Sinead and her mother Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and former professional racer. Their family was passionate about horses and races. In her youth Bea employed as an instructor for the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she wasn't keen on the sport of racing as a career and instead enjoyed performing.
